Harry Miesbauer's Award-Winning Design Combines Luxury and Performance

Harry Miesbauer's inspiration for the Scuderia 65 was to create a design that was both elegant and light in appearance and weight. The exterior design breaks away from common trends, bringing a fresh perspective to the world of yacht design. The yacht's unique properties were developed for a seasoned owner and regatta sailor, with a focus on aesthetics, speed, seaworthiness, and ease of handling, even with a small crew.

The Scuderia 65 is not just about aesthetics and performance. It also offers comfort for family cruising. The interior is light and functional, with heavy items that can be easily removed for racing. This balance between luxury and performance sets the Scuderia 65 apart from other yachts.

The yacht was realized using full carbon-sandwich construction, a carbon mast, and carbon rigging. Its specifications include a length overall (LOA) of 20.050 m, a maximum breadth (Bmax) of 5.510 m, and a displacement of approximately 18,000 kg in measurement trim. The yacht also features a lifting keel with a draft range of 4.500 - 2.950 m.

The design project, which began in 2016 and concluded with sea trials in May 2020, posed several challenges. Creating a timeless, elegant design that would remain beautiful even after a decade was a significant challenge. Additionally, the yacht needed to be as light as possible for its regatta configuration, yet comfortable in its cruising mode.
